A Tipperary postman had to be hospitalised after a dog attack in Tipperary.
In a statement on Monday morning, An Post said "our colleague was the victim of a serious dog attack but as the matter is now in the hands of the authorities there is nothing else we can add at this stage".
The incident happened in the Kilcommon area on Thursday and may have involved one or more Alsatians.

Thurles gardaí confirmed to TippFM that they are investigating the attack but gave the radio station no further details.
Tipperary Live contacted the Garda Press Office about the incident but no additional information could be provided.
